Day 2: The dynamic disciplines

Finally! The drivers could get out on the race course and really make the engines roar. The three disciplines comprised Acceleration, Skid Pad and a combination of Autocross and Endurance, which were tested in parallel. The perfect opportunity to prepare for the important upcoming races and really put the cars through their paces. The drivers gave everything they had and steered their race cars around the marked out course with great precision. Electric cars also raced around the course alongside the roaring combustion engines of the other vehicles. Although they were considerably quieter, they still made quite an impression with their incredible power.
In addition to all this, a special workshop was also held on the topic of cost reporting. Formula Student alumni and this season’s team members were able to discuss their experiences, requirements and give each other useful advice.

Conclusion:

“We’re back in Kassel with a suntan and plenty of new input after enjoying the perfect weather at Lake Constance for three days, all thanks to norelem. The norelem Race Camp 2017 gave us the opportunity to practice all the static disciplines and really put the HRT 17 through its paces. We would like to thank norelem for the great organisation, excellent catering and all the useful advice!” said the Herkules Racing Team from Kassel in conclusion.

We were also very impressed by every single team this year – their passion, discipline and stamina was outstanding! In spite of the extreme heat, the teams exhibited high levels of motivation and gave everything they had so they could test out their cars as thoroughly as possible. The participants’ overall conclusion: all-round success.
The numerous international competitions of the Formula Student series are due to start very shortly so it’s important that everything is perfectly positioned. We hope that the norelem Race Camp has given all the teams the support they need in their preparations for the coming weeks. Best of luck to all the participants!
