Formula Student Munich: Look back at the 2014/15 season.
Formula Student, the international construction competition in which students design and build racing cars, is enjoying ever-increasing recognition and popularity. This year, norelem continued the trend from previous years, acting as a sponsor for many of the participating teams. This included the munich Motorsport team from the Munich University of Applied Sciences, which entered both an electric (E) car and a combustion (C) car.

Changes to last year
This season, the team made a few changes to the electric car, switching from two permanently excited synchronous motors to 4 wheel hub motors, which meant also changing the spur gear to a 1½-speed planetary gear. The central battery container was relocated to the rear of the vehicle. What's more, the vehicles now move with pushrod dampers instead of pullrod dampers.
In the combustion vehicle, the centre of gravity was reduced by ca. 30 mm. It now runs on E85 fuel rather than ROZ98. What's more, modifications where made to the aerodynamics in the front, rear and side pods.

FSG 2015 in Hockenheim
From 28.07.15 to 02.08.15, the team attended the FSG event in Hockenheim, where they achieved good results in the static events. The students from Munich are particularly proud that they got to the business finals with the E car and the design finals with the combustion car. Unfortunately, they were unable to finish the endurance event with both the electric and combustion cars, which meant that they came out in 11th (E) and 17th (C) place overall.
Formula Student Austria 2015
After showing that their car had potential in Hockenheim, the munich Motorsport team drove to Austria in good spirits for Formula Student Austria, which took place from 09.08.15 to 13.08.15.
They managed to come out amongst the front runners in the statics disciplines once again, as well as in the acceleration parade discipline.
In the end, they took 3rd (C) and 10th (E) positions overall.
Formula Student Spain 2015
When racing in Spain from 25.08-31.08.15, the PW9.15 (C) completed the endurance event without a hitch. When it came to electric car, however, the team had a little less luck and were unable to finish the race. Despite this, the PW9.15 (C) achieved 6th place and the Pwe6.15 (E) come out in 9th place overall.
